The size of the book is perfect for anyone studying french in an educational setting. It's small and light enough to fit in your bag without breaking your back with everything else you have to carry. I like it a lot! It has a lot of good words. The conjugation tables are a nice plus also! There were a lot of conflicting reviews without photos about the size, so I added a few! Hope this helps!

It helps to find many meanings an d translations, when one is trying to recover the knowledge of French as a second language
This is a nice dictionary- very helpful- but it is not pocket or purse size. It is thick and the size of a paperback novel. We wanted it to carry around on our trip to France and it was too big for what we wanted to carry most days.

This book is very thick! I know the measurements are on the description, but this should not be marketed as "pocket-sized." The translations seem fine, but when looking at the English to French translation only the pronunciation is given in English. I would then have to flip through the French to English translation section to find the French pronunciation. It was hard to use and bulkier than expected.
Great dictionary for the price, in fact you cant beat the price. The listing says compact, however its not as compact as i would have loved but its not huge either.
The size is fine, but its mostly the thickness.
I believe the content is very complete and accurate.
I needed a smaller dictionary to use when reading French texts and this French/English and English/French dictionary fits the bill beautifully. I already have the hardback Larousse College dictionary which requires a forklift to get off the shelf (and a great substitute for a workout), and this sturdy paperback edition is ideal, with more than sufficient words for almost every situation. It is quite a thick pocket book size, but probably too big to carry comfortably on your travels.
It is a very easy to navigate French - English full Dictionary. Also has some common conjugations in the middle to aid in translation. I used mine for a French document translation test I needed to fulfill a research requirement for my History masters, one of my concerns was that passages I may have been required to translate could have been from as far back as the 1500s, so I was worried there may be words missing from the dictionary due to age. I only encountered this with one word out of a page long document from the 1780s and it may have been a conjugation of a word I didn't recognize. It is a very thorough resource, I found the layout to be useful and it served me well. It is pretty thick though, and therefore would not be a good choice for someone vacationing in a francophone country using it for reference. It would be too big to want to lug around and too dense for common conversation. In summation, great for academic work, too dense for travel reference.
